3DVerkstan Danmark: Known as DED (Directed Energy Deposition), 3D printing using concentrated energy deposition is an additive process with great potential. This technique, which involves depositing molten material using concentrated energy, is highly effective in manufacturing large and reliable metal components. It also has the unique capability of repairing damaged parts. Sivó, a Spanish company specializing in the repair of glass molds, has adopted the DED multi-laser technology from Meltio for this purpose. José Sivó, the additive manufacturing manager at Sivó, shares the benefits of this technology in an interview with Primante3D. Sivó, a family business founded in 1916, has diversified its work over the years and now includes glass container mold repair among its services. Glass container molds differ from other molds in terms of the material used (cast iron) and the metalized joint areas that make them more durable. Read the full interview here.
